High School Senior Photos

Folio sessions are the best choice for variety and if you would love a keepsake box of your best images printed and matted. My photography is based on print packages as I truly love and value beautiful, printed images! All of the folio packages offer images printed on fine art 100% cotton paper for beauty and longevity. I find that digital files usually don’t get printed, and I think that is a shame especially for special moments in life. Tangible prints are such a treasured keepsake and memory. Folio sessions do includes a USB file of up to 30 digital files (includes your printed selection) for keeping and sharing however you would like! These sessions will include a few different choices for your yearbook headshot as well as a variety of full body poses, candid, close up poses etc with different backgrounds. Folio sessions allow extra time for clothing changes (up to 3) and 2 different locations. Perfect option for seniors with hobbies, sports, band, choir, swim, fitness, animals/pets, cars or anything that is a big part of their life. These sessions are up to 3 hours which allows time for exploring the locations and seeking the best lighting and poses. 

Digital Sessions are the best choice if you want a few professional images and includes your headshot for the yearbook. You will be able to download your selection for printing and sharing. Digital packages are more affordable as they do not include the matted prints in a keepsake box or USB with images for printing & sharing. Digital packages offer downloadable files only. 

1)  When do you need to have your senior portrait turned into the yearbook staff?

Each school has a different deadline. Most schools are approximately the end of October. Check with your school for your deadline. It is your responsibility to turn in your photo on time. PLEASE DON’T WAIT TO SCHEDULE YOUR SESSION. My schedule fills up very fast and I allow the last few weeks to remain open for weather delays and rescheduling. October session require a bit of flexibility due to the weather.

2)  What month is best for photos?

Each season brings its own unique look to your photos. May and June are great in the PNW if you like lush green backgrounds, beautiful blossoms (apple orchards cherry blossoms) and spring flowers. Summer months of July and August bring warm golden light and tall fields of grasses and wildflowers. Also wonderful for lazy summer beach shoots and sunflowers! September and October is when we welcome our PNW Fall sweater weather! Sunflowers are still an option as well as that fall golden light. Super fun sessions of woods, trails, fall color and cozy clothing. 

3)  What are some good locations for senior photos?

There are so many great locations where we live! Parks galore! Also barns, grass fields, water, bridges, piers, trails, lakes, trees/woods, high school ball fields, country roads, so many cool places! Share your looks with me and we will find the perfect location to make your session all about you! Travel is limited to within a 15 mile radius of Bellingham. I’m happy to travel to your dream location although there may be additional fees based on travel time.

4)  What do senior sessions cost?

Our most popular session is the Folio Box Session at $575. It’s the best of all options and includes 10 matted prints and 30 digital files. Our digital only sessions are great for those that only need a professional portrait for the yearbook and a few nice portraits for sharing. Digital sessions start at $225. Please reach out for details on all the sessions available. We have 4 options to choose from.

5)  What to wear?

Folio sessions allow for up to 3 clothing changes. Think about the location you chose and the season. Wear clothing that you are comfortable in and would wear easily. If you wear something that is not you or your personality it will show in the photo. Comfort is key! Three easy ideas are casual, dressy and sporty. Or theme your outfit to the location. Another easy way to change up your look is with a jacket or sweater, other accessories like a hat or scarf also make if interesting. 

6)  When will my photos be ready?

You will have a digital gallery within 2 weeks. At that point you will make your selection and I will do a final edit on your choices. For print packages it will take up to an additional 2 weeks (after you have selected your print choices) to have your folio box ready. The headshot for yearbook will be delivered within one week. Digital only packages will be ready for digital download within 2 weeks from the final selection process.
